Recommendation
From Barrett Jelvik, Ecommerce Manager, The Wildcat Shop, direct manager of Allison Ford.
In this position, Allison did an accessibility audit of the website and provided recommendations about how to comply with WCAG 2.0 Level AA Standards.
"Allison is one of those employees who seems to read her job description and say, "this is a nice start". She goes above and beyond without stepping on toes, without expectation of praise and without complaint, all the while making her job look easy in the process. As she was hired into an entry-level position, it was obvious right away that she could handle more and more responsibility and it is for this reason that I have trusted Allison with multiple special projects above the scope of her initial job description.
As her manager, Allison doesn't require much management. She is able to read between the lines, has an intrinsic sense of what is good for the business, as well as the customer, and just tends to do the right thing. I trust that I could give Allison a challenging task and it would be done expediently, thoughtfully and to the best of her ability.
As a coworker, Allison is respected by her team, both as a result of her caring nature as well as her obvious intelligence. She can be counted on to motivate others by setting a great example and has a tendency to de escalate situations through being understanding and the occasional subtle, dry joke. I cannot recall a single individual on our team, or the greater company, who has found Allison disagreeable.
If I could offer advice for anyone looking to hire Allison, it would be to keep her work challenging as I believe completing difficult, nebulous work is where Allison shines the brightest. She seems to be an innate problem solver with a flare for design-thinking and I think this acumen will lend well to positions centered around user-experience and/or other design-related roles. Without hesitation, and hanging my full reputation on her performance, I would highly recommend Allison for any job challenging enough to be worthy of her time."
